Release Notes 4.0.2

new Smart Issue Templates for Jira Data Center 🌟

Release Date: 2026-05-18

Platform: Data Center and Server

Version: 4.0.2

Jira compatibility: 11.0.0 to 11.3.12. The paired release for Jira 10 and earlier is 3.1.5.

Release notes:

NEW A Sync owners button resolves stale user references. If someone changes their username or email, hierarchies and templates they own no longer fail with "User with username ... does not exist" when copied or edited.

FIXED Deleting an issue in a very large project no longer exhausts the Jira heap. The handler that runs on issue deletion was loading every issue in the project into memory, which could take a site down on projects with hundreds of thousands of issues.

These notes were written retrospectively, from the commits and support tickets in the release, after the version had already shipped.
