For easy access to the documentation click the info link next to the CUSTOM section

With the CUSTOM variables, you can create a variable that can be used in any Hierarchy. You don’t have to create once more variable inside the hierarchy as it is described here.

To do it:

  1. Open the add-on menu on the Jira Navigation bar

  2. Click the Create variable button in the VARIABLES section of the Templates dropdown

  3. Enter the Name and Default value

  4. Click the Create button

Now when you have Custom Variable you can use it in text fields of Hierarchy Node

You can manage your custom variables on the Manage Variables page:

  1. Open the Template menu on Jira Navigation bar

  2. Choose Manage variables item in the VARIABLES section

  3. Click the CUSTOM section name to open it.

Edit CUSTOM variable

  • Click the variable name in the Name column on the Manage Variables page.

  • You can easily edit the variable Name and default Value fields.

  • Click the Update button to save the changes.

Delete CUSTOM variable

  • Click the trash bin image in the variable row that you want to delete.

  • Confirm the action with the Delete button on the Delete Variable dialog.
