Retirement notice: Smart Issue Analyzer for Jira Align will be removed from the Atlassian Marketplace on December 17, 2026. Installed copies keep working.
In order to create Analyzer, go to the Analyzer for Jira Align page. There you will see the ‘Create Analyzer for Jira Align’ button, when you click on it new dialog will appear where you can choose the necessary options.
Name
The first field is Name – this is a required field (must not be empty) you have to choose a name that is at least 2 characters long.
Description
The next field is ‘Description’, which is optional, where you can enter some text that you think will help you to use this Analyzer (purpose of the Analyzer, schedule that will be used for it, and some notes about it).
Projects
The third field you will see is ‘Projects’. It is a required field. Here you select projects where you want to check the data quality.
Scheduler
In the following section named ‘Scheduler’, you can set a period for the automated run of the Analyzer you are creating. You can choose to run it on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. For the Daily option Analyzer will run once per day. For Weekly, you can select one or more days of week when you want the Analyzer to run. As for Monthly – you can choose one date month (i.e. 1st, 15th, 27th, etc.).
Rules
The last section of the Analyzer creation dialog is Rules. Here you can select the rules by which to check your data. Here is the list of rules that are available out of the box:

Open issues in Released Versions.

Stories in Active Sprint with undefined story points.

Stories in Active Sprint unrelated to an Epic.

Epics/Stories in Active Sprint with undefined Component.

Open Epics with no assigned owner.
-
Subtasks with Epic parent.

Closed Epics linked with Open Stories.
-
Closed Stories with Open Sub-tasks.
-
"In Progress" Epics linked with "To Do" Stories.

Epics with undefined fixVersion linked to Stories in Active Sprint.
-
Issues "In-Progress" but not in Active Sprint
-
"To Do" Epics linked with NOT "To Do" Stories.
-
Items not updated in 180 days.
-
Show all bugs that are not closed.
-
Open items that have not been updated in the last 2 months.
You can use the ‘Select all’ button to choose all existing rules or ‘Unselect all’ to clear all checkboxes.
Edit/Update Analyzer for Jira Align
Select the Analyzer you need to edit.
Press the ‘Edit’ button, you will see the dialog with the current state of the Analyzer. Change the fields you need and press the ‘Save’ button.
Delete Analyzer for Jira Align
Select the Analyzer you need to delete.
Press the ‘Delete’ button, then the Delete confirmation dialog will appear where you can either confirm that you want to delete the selected Analyzer or cancel the deletion.
